Volunteer - Peer Navigator Support

Job Description:

As a Volunteer for Peer Navigator Support, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall operation and success of the program. You will assist with various tasks and activities, helping to empower formerly incarcerated individuals to become peer navigator in the field of criminal defense. Your dedication and commitment will contribute to breaking the cycle of recidivism and promoting social reintegration.

Responsibilities:

    • Assist with program activities, including recruitment, training, and placement of peer navigators
    • Support the organization of community outreach events, workshops, and conferences
    • Help develop and distribute promotional materials and content for online platforms
    • Provide administrative support to Peer Navigator Project staff, including data entry, filing, and scheduling
    • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required
    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
    • Contribute to a positive and supportive environment for program participants and staff

Qualifications:

    • Strong commitment to the mission and goals of Peer Navigator Project
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Previous experience in the legal field, social work, or community outreach is a plus, but not required
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and priorities
    • Willingness to undergo a background check, if necessary
