Stephen Saloom

Stephen Saloom is a criminal justice reform leader, whose specialty is creating advocacy networks and campaigns to support local, state, and federal policy partners nationwide.

He was the founding Policy Director at the Innocence Project; co-chair of the National Association for Public Defense’s Impact Committee; creator of Concerts for Indigent Defense; architect of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ State Criminal Justice Network; Director of Partner Outreach and Legislative Practice for the 8th Amendment Project; Senior Manager for Advocacy and Partnerships at Pew’s Public Safety Performance Project; served as an elected Police Commission Board Member in his hometown; and is currently a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s Committee on Police Professionalism, Standards, Ethics & Image.

With partners, he has directly helped secure over 100 specific reforms nationwide.
